SURF LESSONS
Wave proudly offers the smoothest, most comprehensive and safe way of teaching surfing in the area, we are passionate about it, and we love sharing the feeling of riding waves! We will be surfing in the Punta Mita area, the beaches are beautiful and unique. For Lessons we often go to playa La Lancha, Stinkys or Anclote, where waves are soft and long, great conditions for beginners. We can do the surf lesson one on one, or as a group or family. We include land transportation, surf equipment, rash guards, and hydration. You can’t explain the feeling you get when you ride a wave until you experience it, so get out there and give it a go and feel the stoke! Learn to surf with us in a unique, fun and safe way!
SURF TRIPS
There’s many beaches and surf spots in the area that will suit all levels. From fast beach breaks to nice and long reef and point breaks. For the surf trips we have more range, plenty of good breaks like Burros, Paredon, Bahia, Faro, and many more. Also, depending on the season, some good beach breaks around the area like Veneros, Litibu, Palmitas or Patzcuaro. Up north of Sayulita we can find Platanitos, long beach full of peaks, rights always great out of the river mouth. If you’re looking for some lefts, Chacala it’s the spot. Then, if the swell is right, Stoners it’s just a couple hours away, the longest right in the area. Farther south of Vallarta we’ve got the amazing Costa Alegre, in Southern Jalisco, where we can find beautiful beaches, and empty lineups, from heavy shore and beach breaks, to long point breaks our two favorite ones, Peñitas and Arroyo Seco. A Mexican classic, Pascuales, works all year long, especially in the summer, its worth the drive. Then just arriving to the state of Michoacán, La Ticla and its magic awaits all year long too with powerful rights and lefts.
ABOUT US
We are a sustainable company focused on surfing, we love the contact with nature and the sea. Our main objective is that those who visit Punta Mita, Sayulita, Vallarta and beyond the bay, enjoy its good waves, get to know the best beaches and be guided by the locals. We have been providing this service since 2010 and we continue to enjoy it as if it were the first day.
Joaquín is the main instructor, he was born in Puerto Vallarta in the 93´, his family introduced him to surf since he was a little kid. He’s been lucky to have surfed in the most incredible places like Indo, France, Portugal, Costa Rica, Peru, Maui, Gold Coast, Morocco and of course, the Mexican pacific, from Baja to Cabo and Nayarit to Oaxaca. He loves sharing his experience and knowledge with people, he has been teaching for more than twelve years, he tells us that “every time it is different, every person is different, and he enjoys meeting new people every time, teaching them to surf or guiding them to meet the best points and beaches of the region”
Why sustainable?
Conservation of beaches and nature is important to us, we participate in activities like beach cleanups and coral restoration. Respect to all nature is a priority, from the use of natural nondestructive sunscreen, to not using plastic, it’s just a basic but fundamental way of doing things for us. We try to share the feeling we have for nature, in order to respect nature.
We like to keep it local, so we recommend the best food spots to grab some Ceviche, some fish tacos or some real and good food from the area, amazing places owned by local people.
